I created this video demo to answer a question in the Articulate forums (since I couldn't find an answer myself and had to come up with one!) I also wanted to share a simple solution to a more advanced design problem with my co-workers. Happy to share with you as well! Hope you enjoy. Video Description: In this video, I'll show you how to use Articulate Storyline to create a "reset button" for a drag and drop interaction using motions paths vs the popular "jump to slide" trigger option. I will explain why I choose the "motion path" method when enabling a "restricted menu" setting (so the NEXT button is functional on a "back" action).

I made this Powtoon video for a 3rd grade class Career Day presentation. We have a pretty cool job. --And it's a pretty cool Powtoon! Check it out! Accessible Education MaterialsThis tool helps you make decisions regarding Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Accessible Education Materials or AEM. “The four major decision points in the process include 1) determination of need, 2) selection of format(s), 3) acquisition of formats; and 4) selection of supports for use. The AIM Navigator includes guiding questions, information that informs decision-making, and useful resources for each decision point" (CAST, 2012).
With my high interest in UDL and QM (Quality Matters), the AEM Navigator can help me make better decisions regarding course design. There are many rules and regulations around designing for accessibility… it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and lost! And don’t even get me started on where to get started! This tool can help guide your strategy and help you make decisions that will better enable all learners in future designs. Why Use Master Shells to Manage Online Courses? This Article was written by an old colleague of mine, Kent Darr, now professional learning designer at Arizona State University! :) Wait a'go Kent! Victoria Walker: Kinetic Jewelry DesignsThis was shared with me via Facebook from a jewelry artist friend of mine.
I thought these blooming lockets were very unique, creative and beautiful! Check out her inspiring process and designs. Definitely worth a look! With all the current sexual harassment allegations in news, media, and politics, I thought I'd share this enlightening article with you.
My sister was quoted several times in this article for her research on sexual harassment training and why it can be ineffective and even counter productive, promoting gender bias. As a learning designer, it shows how important academic research on a topic such as sexual harassment can be salient to an effective training design. Just something simple as altering the viewpoint or "perspective" to that of bi-standar can improve training in this area. Food for thought! Check it out! Why sexual harassment training doesn’t stop harassment Oh, this has AWESOME written all over it! :)
