I have been a teacher, a wife, a mother, and now, most recently, a learning designer, but I have always been an artist. Ever since I could hold a crayon, I've loved drawing, painting, writing, and creating art. My mother first inspired me to try photography. She was always taking pictures... teaching me things, and I remember the joy we shared in viewing that perfect shot together. I created my frist fine art prints in college with her old 1980's Canon SLR-- that's a film camera!
I fell in love with my photography classes in college and have been honing my skills ever since. Whether out in nature, around town or within the scope of my own backyard, I love to take pictures of precious moments in time. When I go out into the field, I try to paint with light like Ansel Adams, and capture emotion like Dorthea Lang all while being brave like Garry Winogrand who never missed an opportunity for fear of reaction.
With that sentiment in mind, I welcome you to the world I see through my lens. I love the way light can transform a place, an object... a moment and I can't wait to share them with you.
